About Project Broadcast
Back in 2016, our founders watched their wives hunt for a texting tool for their direct-selling businesses… and come up empty. Nothing was built for the way they actually worked. So they built it! Today Project Broadcast helps sellers, team leaders and direct-selling companies stay in touch, follow up and grow, without losing the personal touch.
Our story
Jake Dempsey and Brian Knorr are software developers. Their wives were both building direct-selling businesses, and in 2016 the texting tools out there were pricey and built for much bigger companies. Not for someone growing a business between appointments, after work and around family life.
So Jake and Brian built one. Project Broadcast launched as a mobile app first (because that’s where sellers actually work), and the web version followed a few months later.
What we believe
Every message should still sound like the person who sent it. Project Broadcast takes care of the repetitive reaching out and following up you’d never get to by hand. Then the moment a customer replies, the conversation is all yours.

More than a texting app
Your own number
When a text comes from a number your customers recognize, it feels like hearing from you… because it is! Project Broadcast gives you a local 10-digit business texting number. It’s not your personal cell and it’s not a short code, so your business texts stay separate from your personal ones. New accounts get a new local number by default, and if you already have a business number, it can usually be brought over.
Delivery
Texting customers comes with rules, and the biggest one is simple: message people who have agreed to hear from you. Project Broadcast registers your local number for business texting (also called 10DLC) and manages unsubscribe requests for you. Texting only people who have opted in stays with you.
More ways to reach out
What started as a texting app now includes email, calling from your business number, ringless voicemail drops, chat and landing pages for promotions, events and lead generation. Because sometimes hearing a familiar voice at the right moment makes all the difference!
